Busy
We've done batches and batches of cooking at assorted shelters over the last few weeks, but very little time to talk about it.
With Rita coming along, it looks as if time will continue to be short.
One of the advantages to living in a land-locked state is that we never get directly hit by hurricanes so we have the resources to help out those coastal states that need it
I think, by mid-October, things will settle down.
We did manage, in the midst of all this to take off 2 hours to play Pirate Games and end with a Pirate Feast of Salamagundi,lemon pepper grilled tuna steaks, assorted pickled yummies, and a dessert of fresh fruits soaked in rum and demarara sugar ladled over a custard.
We hope to host a harvest feast in the near future, and just wait until you see what we have planned for Halloween treats!
